Seminar Debates Public-Private Partnerships for Angola’s Development

A seminar focused on strengthening Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) was held as part of the international mission to Angola. The event brought together experts and government representatives to discuss strategies for boosting investment in infrastructure and the private sector.During the meeting, opportunities were discussed in strategic sectors such as transport, urban mobility and concessions for essential services. The aim was to identify ways to structure a more robust pipeline of projects and facilitate fundraising for sustainable initiatives.The presentation by the Ministry of Planning (MINPLAN) was led by the National Director for PPPs, Wenilton da Paixão, who highlighted the progress and challenges for implementing new projects in the country. In addition, the African Development Bank (AfDB) gave a presentation in which, among various aspects, it shared the experience of PPPs in other African countries, bringing valuable insights to the Angolan reality.
The participants also analyzed the impact of PPPs in other African countries and discussed innovative financing mechanisms that can be applied in Angola. The seminar highlighted the need for effective partnerships to ensure sustainable economic growth and broaden financial inclusion in the country.With the participation of international fund managers, the event reinforced Angola's commitment to attracting foreign capital and strengthening the private sector through collaborative and efficient solutions.
